The SongWhittler
Unfortunately, most people have never had a song written for them. But personal songs do something that nothing else can. They capture your heart toward a person and send it soaring through the air.
That’s my goal when I write for people - to write the song that THEY would write if they could write songs. And that’s why my process starts with an interview (instead of an online form). I want to learn about who I’m writing for and hear your story together.
Then, I’ll touch base with you throughout the songwriting process, ensuring I’m on the right track.
In the end, you’ll receive a professional recording you can play for them.

You Give Me Some Info
You pay half up front, and I’ll send you questions to think through (story/relationship details, desired genre/feel, etc.). Then we’ll do an online interview.

Who Owns the Song?
I follow a pretty standard “Personal Use License” arrangement which is used by other songwriting companies.
By entering into a songwriting arrangement with SongWhittler/Brian Harvey, you understand you will have a “Personal Use License” to the song which means you can put it on your social media, use it in videos, sing it from the rooftops - basically whatever you want as long as you’re not making money off it. As the writer, I’ll retain 100% ownership of the master and composition of your song, meaning I am free to use it for marketing, repurpose parts of it, or even rewrite the lyrics in the future - possibly making money off any of that (not likely, but it could conceivably happen).
